About Aldridge Counselling Services (ACS)

I am a qualified, experienced counsellor and have trained in Humanistic approaches to therapy. This means that I use a range of counselling theories and approaches within my work, ensuring that I work with you to tailor our sessions to suit your needs.

I cover all areas of counselling, including counselling for anxiety, counselling for depression, counselling for panic disorders and counselling for stress. I also specialise in working with mental health, addiction and alcoholism, having worked in the field for over 6 years. I have excellent links to the highest of quality treatment services within Hertfordshire and the UK, and can support individuals and family members in accessing a range of treatment programs.

I aim to provide a professional and confidential counselling service in Hertford for individuals, and can offer long-term therapy or shorter solution-focused counselling tailored to suit each individuals needs and wishes.

I offer an initial consultation over the phone or in person, where we can discuss the process of counselling. This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have, and gain a feel of me and my methods of working.

Through counselling I can help you to work through psychological and emotional problems, finding ways to manage difficult situations in your life and improve your sense of well-being. It may be a specific situation that brings you to counselling, a sad or troubling event, or it may be that life seems overwhelmingly difficult and out of control. I can help you to explore difficult issues, finding ways to understand and overcome the emotional distress.

Accreditations

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by the BACP’s Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

The BACP is a professional body set up to promote and monitor best practice within counselling and psychotherapy practices, and to look after the people who use these services. All my registration details will be provided to you after setting up our contract for your security.

I am also registered with the RSCPP – a member organisation, which recognises qualified and professional therapists – and the Counselling Directory, which provides a database of UK counsellors and psychotherapists.

I am fully DBS checked. This means I have undergone a criminal records check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (sponsored by the Home Office) and have been certified safe and reliable to work with people.
